I did this one, on site, one lovely
hot Summers day.
The farmer had just cut his
second crop of hay the day
before, and the scent of it was
delightful! The mountain in the
background that's being brushed
with cloud is Pillar, and
the valley at its foot is Mosedale.
This smallish painting -
about 16 inches by 12 - was
done in about five hours;
Oils on hardboard.
